Fountain of Blessings

Are you thirsty

Rev. 21: 6 “Then he said to me, ‘All is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will freely give water from the life-giving spring.”

On November 18, 2017 we received our 1st delivery of recovery donations to the Fountain of Blessings warehouse. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped! Residents may receive these donations through local churches and other organizations such as Wesley House, Domestic Abuse Shelter and others. We’ll let you know as they sign up to hand out the recovery donations.  If you would like to volunteer 1 or 2 hours a month to this vital ministry, please sign the form at the bottom of this page. It is completely secure and goes directly to Pam’s inbox. You will hear from her as soon as she receives your registration.

The Fountain of Blessing Ministry was birthed following Hurricane Irma in 2017. During the first months of recovery efforts, truck after truck, filled with donations to help our neighbors, turned back taking those donations home with them. We weren’t ready. We had no place to go with the donations to hand them out. Bernadette Restivo responded by opening the Keys Strong.org warehouse on Big Coppitt Key. This was an excellent move; however, while the donations were available to the Upper Keys they were not accessible. Pam Feeser, Founder and Executive Director of Living Springs Counseling chose to open an “auxiliary-warehouse” in the Upper Keys.  Chris Sante stepped up and offered one of his buildings as the location for this ministry during the first year free of charge. Working in collaboration with Keys Strong.org, the Living Springs Team opened the storehouse with lots of help from volunteers. The donated facility had been flooded by Irma and needed to be cleared of debris and cleaned. Then the truck deliveries began. Upper Keys Churches with pantries began coming to fill their shelves with needed donations. Residents were then coming to those local churches to fill their household needs. Churches without pantries sent volunteers to assist at the Fountain of Blessings storehouse.

John 4:14 “[Jesus answered] whoever drinks from the water that I will give will never be thirsty again. The water that I give will become in those who drink it a spring of water that bubbles up into eternal life.”

We have drunk from God’s Fountain, as Christians we can do no less than extend our embrace of agape and hope around our neighbors. Everything we do through this ministry shares this agape and hope offering our neighbors and community a drink from this living, bubbling fountain of life. All are welcome.
